ALETHEIA

From the ancient Greek ἀλήθεια — meaning truth, disclosure, and the active uncovering of what is concealed.

The word was used by philosophers from Heraclitus to Heidegger to describe not merely the absence of falsehood, but the act of revealing reality. A model built on aletheia does not flatter. It illuminates.

In statistical and financial modelling, this is precisely what separates great work from mediocre work. A mediocre model is a dangerous model. It hides assumptions. A mediocre audit misses the error that matters. A great model makes visible exactly what is driving the outcome — for better or for worse — so that the decision-maker can act with eyes open.
